There’s an update for heidenreich log as well. Three smaller additions – but ones you’ll notice quickly in everyday use.
Colours for the chart lines
The colours of the chart lines have been reworked, and you can now also set them manually. Especially when several values share a single chart – systolic and diastolic blood pressure, for example – it helps enormously if every line has the colour you associate with it. One glance, and you know what you’re looking at.
Calculated fields
Calculated fields are new. Instead of working values out yourself and typing them in, you let the app derive them from what you’ve entered. The distance driven from the start and end odometer readings, the price per litre from the amount and the volume filled – things like that no longer need to happen in your head or on a calculator. Less typing, fewer mistakes.
Restoring the default types
In the settings you can now restore the default types manually. Handy if you deleted a type while trying things out and end up needing it later – or if you simply want to start again from a clean base.
Everything stays flexible – and local
While we’re at it, two things that might get overlooked but that make up the core of the app.
heidenreich log is completely flexible. The types that come with it are an offer, not a straitjacket. You can create your own types with exactly the fields you need – and record anything that can be captured as a number, a piece of text or a checkbox. Whether that’s garage visits, training data, plant fertiliser or something I’d never have thought of: the app doesn’t dictate the structure, you build it yourself.
These types are already built in and ready to go:
- Blood pressure – systolic, diastolic, pulse, note
- Weight – in kg
- Blood sugar – value in mg/dL, time of measurement, note
- Temperature – temperature in °C, location/context, note
- Medication – medication, dose, taken, note
- Sleep – duration in hours, quality, note
- Mileage log – odometer start and end, distance, purpose of trip, origin, destination
- Refuelling – odometer reading, volume filled, amount, price per litre, filled up completely
- Meter reading – meter reading, meter/location, note
- Falconry – weight in g, rest day, feeding, full crop, hunting success
On top of that, you can log comments together with your location and weather data anywhere in the app – captured at the push of a button.
And your data stays with you. heidenreich log doesn’t use any service in the background and stores everything exclusively on your own device. Nothing travels to a server, nothing gets analysed. If you’d like a safety net, you can enable a backup via Google Drive or Apple iCloud – your copy then sits in your own cloud account, not with me.
